About the Project

About the ProjectThe Benson Creative District commissioned a community-centered visual initiative to showcase the neighborhood’s small businesses, artists, and cultural spaces.

My role was to design and capture a photo project that felt authentic, approachable, and representative of Benson’s creative identity.

Use Cases

The final asset library is now used across:
  • Website hero images & banners
  • Partner + sponsor promotions
  • District-wide branding
  • Social media campaigns
  • Print & digital marketing
  • Press + tourism materials
Front matter, or preliminaries, is the first section of a book and is usually the smallest section in terms of the number of pages. Each page is counted, but no folio or page number is expressed or printed, on either display pages or blank pages.

To produce perfect books, these rules have to be brought back to life and applied.
Final Deliverables
  • 200+ professionally edited images
  • Full community asset library
  • Organized folder structure with metadata
  • Vertical social-ready crops for Instagram/Facebook
  • Web banners + hero images
  • Print-ready photos for district promotions
Tools Used
Sony / Fujifilm • Lightroom • Photoshop • Metadata Tagging • File System Design
Outcomes
  • Strengthened BCD’s public-facing visual identity with modern, consistent imagery
  • Increased social engagement on posts featuring new district visuals
  • Provided a reusable photo library for ongoing promotions and partnerships
  • Helped unify the district’s brand across platforms and campaigns
TESTIMONIAL
Behind the Lens
Most sessions were shot solo, keeping the process simple and unobtrusive. This approach allowed people to open up naturally and created more genuine, story-driven images.
